Promenade

When the weather if fine, the Terneuzen promenade is the place to be on a Sunday afternoon. At the top of the dike you have a great view at the shipping on the river Scheldts that sail to Antwerp and the Northsea. It had a regular ferry service to Hoedekenskerke in Zuid-Beveland. Terneuzen developed, after the digging of the Kanaal van Terneuzen naar Gent (Ghent–Terneuzen Canal)( the Flemish named it: The Kanaal van Gent naar Terneuzen) in the 19th century, into one of the most important harbours of Zeeland and, together with Vlssingen Oost (Sloegebied), as Zeeland Seaports, the third harbour from The Netherlands. (Terneuzen - Zeeuws-Vlaanderen)
